What is more, these snacks can turn into a lot of unwanted belly fat. But, there is a solution for everything, even for your sweet tooth. Below is a list of ideas that won’t cause any guilt.
Blueberry Protein Bars
These protein bars are perfect for starting your morning or for getting rid of the munchies. They will keep your energy levels high for a while, plus they are gluten free and vegan.
Instructions: cover a baking pan with parchment to hang over the edges. Combine 1 1/2 cup of rolled oats, ¾ cup of whole almonds, ½ cup of dried blueberries, pistachios and walnuts and ¼ cup of sunflower seeds in a bowl and steer until they are all mixed. Add ½ cup of honey or maple syrup and ¼ cup of unsweetened apple sauce and again steer thoroughly. At the end, add 1 cup of almond butter to the mixture and steer until combined. After everything is mixed well, place the mixture into the pan and press firmly with your palms, distributing it evenly. Place it into the freezer for about 1 hour. After removing it from the freezer, gently peel off the paper and cut the mixture into bars of the desired size.
Once again, these bars are suitable for breakfasts and cravings, as nuts and seeds are a great protein source and they are easy to make.
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 350ºF; cover a baking pan with parchment and oil it with olive oil. Put ¾ cup of unsweetened shredded coconut, ½ cup of sesame seeds and chopped pecans and ¼ cup of pumpkin and sunflower seeds into a frying pan over medium-low heat and stir occasionally until they are lightly toasted. Remove from heat and mix them into a bowl with ¼ cup of flax seeds, ¼ tablespoon of sea salt and ¼ cup of dried cranberries. Add ¼ cup of raw honey and sunflower seed butter into the mixture and steer until combined. Transfer the mixture into a baking pan and distribute it evenly. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes and then cool the mixture completely. At the end, remove the parchment and cut into bars.
These bars are low in calories and fat, and are suitable for quick snacks.
Instructions: Thoroughly combine 2 tablespoons of coconut milk, one and a half tablespoons of protein powder and 1 tablespoon of flax seed meal in a bowl. Gently shape pieces of the mixture into bars and lightly dust with unsweetened cocoa powder.
